Prayer for young adults
Anchors: Obadiah 1:11, Mark 14:70
Father, You see the times I stay quiet when I should speak. You did not let the bystander off the hook. Standing aside was still choosing. I have stood aside more times this year than I want to count. A coworker spoken about cruelly while I said nothing. A friend whose faith I let drift without an honest word. A small lie told by someone above me that I quietly went along with. Christ, train me to see my silences as actions. They are. Spirit, expose the cool detachment I have called wisdom. Where I have been one of them by standing still, give me one small word or move today that puts me on the other side of the line. Better to be awkward and right than smooth and complicit.
Amen.
