Prayer for young adults

Lord Jesus, You are the water of life. Revelation 22:17 says the last invitation in the Bible is free. Anyone who wants it can come and drink.

I do not trust free things. In my world, free things always have a catch. They want my time, my money, or my attention later. So when You say Your gift is free, I look for the trick.

But there is no trick with You. You paid for this gift with Your own blood. I cannot earn it. I cannot buy it. I can only receive it.

So today, I drink. Not pay. Not earn. Not haggle. I take Your forgiveness freely. I take Your mercy freely. I take this new morning freely. When I am tired this afternoon, I will take another sip, freely.

I stop trying to add my own payment to a gift You already bought. You did the work. I receive the gift. The water is free.
