Prayer for young adults

Father,

Your Word says to cast my burden on You, and You will keep me standing. Psalm 55:22. You tell me to let go. You promise to hold me up.

I have not been letting go. I have been holding on. The money stress. The job choice. The brother I keep worrying about. The friend I keep trying to fix. The sickness in my family I cannot make better. I carry them all day like a heavy pack on my back. I shift them around. I set them down for a minute, then pick them back up.

You are not asking me to manage these things with You. You are asking me to give them to You. One time. Not give them to You and then sneak them back because I do not trust You with them.

So right now I name them and I let them go. The debt. The decision. The person I am scared for. The relationship I cannot control. The health problem I cannot solve. I bring them to You. I set them down. I am not picking them back up before I finish this prayer.

You will keep me standing. That is Your promise. I am going to walk into today without the heavy pack. I need both hands free for what You actually want me to do.
