Prayer for young adults

Anchors: Joshua 2:21, Joshua 6:25

Father,

In Joshua 2:21, Rahab tied a red cord in her window. It was a small act of trust. It did not look like much. But You had promised to protect her house, and she obeyed.

I often skip the small things You have shown me to do. I wait for some big act of faith to prove I am serious. Meanwhile I put off the prayer I know I should pray, the apology I know I should make, the giving I know I should do, the sentence I know I should say. None of them feel big enough on their own. But when I skip them all, I step outside the place where Your promise meets my trust.

Rahab's cord was just a piece of red rope. The people in Jericho did not understand it. But Your people knew what it meant. And when the city fell, that house stood.

So today, show me the small thing I have been putting off. Help me tie it in the window. Let me obey the simple instruction You have already given instead of waiting for a bigger sign. I trust that Your deliverance comes through the obedience You have placed in front of me.

Make me someone who acts on Your word the day I hear it, not someone who waits for something more impressive.

Amen.
