Prayer for young adults

Jesus, You saw Judas coming. You knew the kiss was not real, and You named it anyway. You see the same gap in me.

I say kind words while resentment grows. I sing songs on Sunday but do not let them change my Wednesday. I act loyal in front of others but talk differently when they are not there. The outside and the inside do not match.

You are not surprised. You see it all. But You do not look away. You name the gap with the same patience You showed a friend You had eaten with for years.

So show me the gaps before they get bigger. Show me where my warmth and my actions do not agree. Show me where I am performing for You while quietly holding on to what is not Yours. Close the gap, not by trying harder, but by turning back to You.

I would rather be honest and broken than polished and false.
