Prayer for young adults
Anchors: Jeremiah 31:3
Father,
You love me with a love that never ends. You draw me back with kindness, not just with fear. Jeremiah said it this way: You pulled me close because You are good, and Your love never moved while I was gone.
I have come back to You before because I was scared. Scared of getting caught. Scared of being wrong. Scared of how far I had drifted. Those feelings are not bad. But they are not the best reason to come home. The best reason is this: You are kind. Your love did not leave when I did.
Today is a leap day. The calendar gave me one more day. I do not have to wait until tomorrow to come back. I do not have to feel worse first before You will take me. You draw me with kindness, and then the real sorry follows. Not the other way around.
So I am coming home today. On this extra day I did not expect. Whatever I have been putting off, the thing I have not said out loud, the pattern I have not broken, I bring it to You now. Not because I am panicking. Because You are kind.
That is enough.
Amen.
