Prayer for young adults

Anchors: 2 Corinthians 7:6, 2 Corinthians 1:4

Father, You are the God who comforts the cast down. You comforted Paul by sending Titus to him. Paul named who sent the comfort. Then he named who carried it. Comfort came through a person walking up the road.

I have been pretending I am fine. I look okay on the outside. On the inside I am falling apart. Friends ask how I am and I give the short answer. The long answer would take too much time and show too much. So I stay down in private and sound fine in public.

But that means the comfort You send through people cannot find me. I am hiding.

Paul did it differently. He was down and he said so. You sent Titus. Titus walked up the road and came into the room where Paul really was. The comfort was not an idea. It was a face Paul knew, standing in the door.

So break through my pretending. Help me tell one friend this week how I really am, not the clean version. Let me be someone who is open and honest and easy to find. And give me eyes to see Your comfort when it shows up, not as a feeling inside, but as a person at my door.

You are still the God who comforts the cast down. You still send people. I am cast down. Send someone.

Amen.
