Prayer for young adults
Anchors: Matthew 6:26
Father,
Jesus once pointed at sparrows and said You feed them. They do not plant or harvest or store food in barns, and yet You take care of them. He called You Father.
That word does not always feel easy for me. The fathers I knew growing up were complicated. Some were not around. Some were worried all the time. Some tried their best and still got things wrong. Some hurt me in ways I am still working through. When I hear the word Father, I think of them first.
But You are not just a better version of them. You are the original. You feed the smallest birds without being asked. You clothe the grass and flowers without anyone clapping. You keep caring for creatures that give nothing back.
So today, help me come to You as that Father. Not as someone I have to bargain with. Not as someone I have to earn things from. Just as a child.
Feed me. Clothe me. Lead me through the small needs of this day, the way You lead a sparrow through hers.
Heal the word Father in me by being one. Actually. Daily. Without me having to perform.
Amen.
