Prayer for young adults

Anchors: Hebrews 4:9

Father,

Your Word says there is still a rest waiting for Your people. Not the collapse kind. The real kind.

I know the collapse kind. I live it every Friday night. By the time the weekend comes, I am face-down on the bed with a phone in my hand. I have nothing left to give and not enough left to choose anything good. My body recovers a little, but my soul does not.

But the rest You offer is different. It is rest because the work that mattered is already finished. Jesus already did what my striving was trying to do. There is nothing left for me to add to my standing with You. The hardest work in the universe — being acceptable to a holy God — is done. I am invited to stop trying to redo it.

So today, before I crash again, teach me to rest now. Not idle. Rest. The kind that comes from knowing the big work is finished, and what is left for me is small, daily, and doable. Help me receive the rest You have offered, and stop making my own kind that never refills.

Amen.
