Prayer for young adults

Father,

I bring You what I have today. It is not clean. My best prayers still have my own wants mixed in. My good deeds still carry my need to be seen. Even the things I do for You are not pure.

That used to scare me. I thought if I tried hard enough, I could finally bring You something perfect. But Your Word says even the high priest carried a plate on his forehead to cover the failure in Israel's worship. The best worship still needed help.

So I stop trying to clean up my own heart before I come to You. Christ is my better High Priest. He covers what is wrong in my worship. He takes what is mixed and makes it enough.

Take this half-good prayer. Take this tired obedience. Take this love that still wants praise. I bring You what I have. The holiness is His. The bringing is mine.
