Prayer for young adults
Anchors: Isaiah 49:8
Father, You said through Isaiah that You would give Christ as a covenant for Your people. Not just a messenger. Christ Himself, given as the gift.
This catches me on a working morning. I am still trying to earn something I already own. I work for grace. I look for proof. I compare this week to last week, trying to see if I am holding up my end of a deal You never offered.
There is no deal. There is a gift. Christ given as covenant means the promise is already kept. It was sealed in His hands, His side, His life. I do not have to argue my way back into Your favor. I just have to receive what is already mine in Him.
So let this new year be the un-learning of trying to earn what You already gave. Free me from the slow, tired work of buying back what You bought with blood. Show me a Christ who is Himself the promise, the bond, and the seal. And put Him in the place inside me where my pride keeps trying to make its own deal.
Amen.
