Hypocrisy Prayer

Anchors: Matthew 23:27

Lord Jesus, You called the religious leaders whitewashed tombs. Outside they looked clean. Inside they were full of death. I do not want to read that from a safe distance. The whitewash is in me too. The smile I wear when I am not okay. The kind voice at church that does not match the impatience at home. The outside shines. The inside does not. I cannot fix this with better paint. Only You can bring life to what is dead inside me. Strip away the false front. Make what I show on the outside match what is true on the inside. Let me be honest before You, even when it is ugly. End the pretending. Make me whole, the same person in every room and every hour. Amen.
