Easter Prayer
Anchors: 1 Corinthians 15:14, John 20:1
Father, on Easter morning the stone was rolled away and the angels said He is not here, He is risen. If the tomb is still full, then everything falls apart. But the tomb is empty. That is not a metaphor for spring. That is a real body raised from the dead. You are the first to rise, and because You rose, I will rise too. Build my Easter on that fact. The fact does not depend on my mood that day. It does not depend on how I feel or what goes well. It is Yours, done without my help, offered without my deserving. He is risen indeed. Let me carry that into the Tuesdays that follow. The dawn that broke that morning has not yet set. Amen.
