Prayer for teens
Anchors: Romans 8:30
Father, I caught myself today secretly hoping my friend would not get the thing she wanted. If she did not get it, I would feel less behind. I know that was wrong. Your Word says You have called me, justified me, and will glorify me. There is enough glory for both of us. Her good is not my deficit. Take that small ugly hope away. I am sorry I had it. Help me text her congratulations tomorrow when she announces the thing, and mean it. Help me cheer for her in front of other friends without rolling my eyes the moment she turns away. By next week, may her win not feel like a paper cut to me. She is not my rival. She is a friend who is being lifted up. Lift me with her, even if it costs me some pride.
Amen.
