Prayer for teens

Father, I lied last week and I have been managing the lie ever since. Every conversation now has a little duck and weave in it. I have wandered off into a small ugly story I am still maintaining. Bring me back. I am not asking for the easy out. Help me actually tell the truth to the person I lied to — tomorrow, not next week. The lie was small. The cover-up has become bigger than the lie. Stop the cover-up. Whatever consequences come, come. That is the point of repentance. Not the sorry feeling. The turn. The actual words. The hard conversation I have been ducking. Walk me into it. You love me even when I wander. Receive me back. Amen.
