New Heaven and New Earth Prayer

Father, You said, Behold, I am making all things new. You promised a new heaven and a new earth. You promised the holy city, the new Jerusalem, coming down from heaven. You promised to dwell with Your people. Every tear wiped away. No more death. No more mourning, crying, or pain. The former things will pass away.

Hold that destination in front of me. The hope You gave is not escape from the world You made. It is the renewal of this world. What is broken will be mended. What groans now will be made whole.

Make me homesick for Your city. Sustain me in the long obedience that leads me to its gates.
