Prayer for new mothers

Father, Jeremiah says, The Lord is my portion. That is what my soul says too. Not the Lord plus rest. Not the Lord plus a clean kitchen. Not the Lord plus a quiet hour. The Lord. That is enough. The rest will come and go. But Your love does not change. Let me say it out loud right now, over the bottle warmer. The Lord is my portion. Today. With the dishes piled high, the baby fussing, and the house in a mess. The Lord is my portion. That is all I need to get through this morning. Amen.
