Prayer for new mothers

Father, Psalm 30 says, "Weeping may last through the night, but joy comes in the morning." David did not say weeping was wrong. He said it does not get the last word.

Last night I cried. Not for a big reason. Just tiredness soaking into everything. The baby fine. The marriage fine. The day fine. I still cried.

Joy comes in the morning. Not because I make it happen. Because You bring it.

This morning, the joy is not big. It is a sip of warm coffee. The quiet kitchen. The baby sleeping a little longer. The fact that I am still here and still Yours.

That is enough for now. Tears were honest last night. This small morning steadiness is honest too. Both came from You.
