Prayer for new mothers

Father, Ephesians 6 says to "pray always." I used to read that and wonder how anyone did it.

Now I think I see. Praying always is not constant words. It is a quiet turning toward You all day, right in the middle of things. A whispered help when she cries. A thank-You when she falls asleep. A simple sorry when I have been sharp.

This is a prayer life I can really have. I do not need to find a slot of time that does not exist. I just need to keep turning toward You while my hands are full.

Train me to do that today. The dishwashing, the changing, the feeding, the folding. Let each one be a small turning. Let nothing be too small.
