Prayer for grandmothers

Anchors: Matthew 6:9

Father, I have known the Lord's Prayer longer than any other words. It is older in me than my own name. But Lord, when I learned it so young, it can turn into just sounds. I say it fast and do not think. Today, slow me down. Our. That word means I am not alone. I am praying with all Your people. Father. That word means I belong to You. In heaven. That word means You are on Your throne, not just near me. Hallowed be Your name. That means I want Your name to be honored more than anything. Each phrase is a world, Lord. Walk me through this prayer the way I walk through an old garden. Let me go slowly. Let me see what has changed. Let me see what is still there. The prayer is old. So am I. The freshness comes from slow walking, not from new words. Let me pray it today as if I had never prayed it before. Amen.
