Prayer for grandmothers

Father, Your Word says the truth lives in us and will be with us forever. The truth is not just something I hold. It is Someone who stays. Lord, my memory is not what it used to be. The names of the deacons from our old church are starting to slip. The verses I learned when I was young now come out partial. But this verse reminds me that Your truth does not depend on how well I remember. Your Spirit keeps the truth alive in me. My recall is shaky, but Your dwelling is steady. Lord Jesus, this is a comfort as I get older. My mind may slow down, but Your Spirit is strong. The truth in me is still whole. I may not always find the right words, but You still move me to do the right small thing. When I forget a friend's name, Your love is still in me. The truth lives. The truth stays. The truth will be with me forever. That is enough for this quiet morning. Amen.
