Prayer for grandmothers

Anchors: Luke 5:4, Luke 5:5

Father, You told Peter to go out into the deep water and let down his nets. He had fished all night and caught nothing. He was tired. But he went anyway. He said, "At Your word, I will let down the net." Lord, at my age the deep waters are not real water. They are the talks I do not want to have. The prayer that is harder than the quick one. The honest letter to the cousin I keep putting off. The visit to the dying friend I would rather skip. These are my deep waters. My net is small. My strength for the day is small. Lord Jesus, at Your word, help me let down the net today. Just once. Just one launch. The talk that needs to happen. The prayer that needs to go deeper. The visit that needs to be made. The results are Yours. Peter caught more than he could pull in. I might see nothing at all. But obedience is what You asked for. The catch was always Yours. Walk me out to one small deep place today. Let me drop the net there, at Your word. The long night is over. The next thing is obedience. Amen.
