Grandmothers
Prayer for grandmothers
Anchors: Numbers 9:18
Father, in Numbers 9:18 Your people moved when You moved and made camp when You stayed. I want that kind of life this season. No anxious looking around to see what everyone else is doing. Just watching for Your cloud.
At this age I have less control over my own going and staying than I did at fifty. The body has its votes. The doctor has his. The weather has its. None of them are the cloud. You are the cloud.
Let me move today if You move me. Let me stay if You stay. The lunch with a friend if You arrange it. The quiet hour in the chair if You leave the cloud over my tent. I am not going to push myself to stay busy just to feel useful. I am not going to say no to what You put in front of me just because I am tired.
I am going to look for Your cloud in the ordinary parts of my day and follow. The making camp is as obedient as the journeying. Both are commanded. Both are well.
Amen.
