Prayer for grandmothers
Anchors: Psalm 91:1
Father, Your Word says that those who live in You, the Most High, have a dwelling place that will not be moved. That word dwelling is the one I am sitting with this morning. Not just refuge, which is what we usually quote. Dwelling. A place where someone lives. I have been living in You for so many decades that I have lost track of when I moved in. The marriage years happened inside Your house. The widow years are happening inside it. The early childhood church and the middle-life dry seasons and the late-life rediscoveries all happened under the same roof. Thank You for being my home for so long. You have not asked me to leave, even when I have not been a faithful resident. Keep being my home today. Let the smaller things in my day stay in their proper place. The mailbox can fill up. The doctor's office can move again. But the home You are will never be relocated. Amen.
