Prayer for grandmothers
Anchors: 1 Samuel 1:18
Father, so the woman went her way, and did eat, and her countenance was no more sad. 1 Samuel 1:18.
Father, this verse is gentler than the loud ones. Hannah had not yet received the son. She had only been heard. And because she knew she was heard, she ate, and her face changed.
That is the small thing I am praying for today. Some mornings I do not need a great answer. I just need to know You heard me. Then I can eat the breakfast in front of me. Then the face in the bathroom mirror does not have to stay sad.
I bring my own long list to You. Things I have asked for, not yet received. Some I have stopped saying out loud because it was too tiring to keep saying them.
But the verse does not say I must wait for the answer before I can eat. It does not say I must wait before my face can soften. Being heard is enough for now.
Let me trust that You are listening this morning. Let me eat what is set before me. Let my face soften a little before I leave the room.
Amen.
