Prayer for grandmothers

Father, You promised to help me, even when I feel small. Sometimes I feel like a worm. Some mornings my legs hurt on the way to the bathroom, and that word fits. Worm. Yes. But You are not ashamed of me. You help me anyway. That is the news I keep needing. Today my body asks more than I want to give. My courage runs out early. There is a phone call I do not want to make, but I should. You are not waiting for me to look strong. You are already moving toward me as Helper. Let me lean on that. Let me stop pretending for people who are not even watching. Just me and You, Lord. You do the heavy work. Amen.
