Prayer for dads
Anchors: John 7:37
Father, Jesus stood up on the last day of the feast and called out, "If anyone is thirsty, come to Me and drink." That was the last day. The final call before everyone went home. And here I am on the last day of the year, and He is still calling.
Whatever I did or did not do this year, the door is still open. Whatever I drifted from, whatever I half-believed, whatever I let pass me by — He is still calling. I do not have to make my own fresh start. I just have to come back to the same source that was there in January.
Let me come tonight. Not with big plans or big promises, but as a tired man who is thirsty and finally ready to say so. Take this year — the failures and the small wins — and let me close it under Your invitation, not under my own scorecard.
Lord Jesus, You are the water. Help me drink one more time as this year ends. Then walk me into the next one with Your hand on my shoulder.
Amen.
