Prayer for dads
Anchors: Luke 5:4, Luke 5:5
Father,
You told Peter to go out into the deep water and let down his nets.
Peter had fished all night and caught nothing.
The deep was the last place he wanted to go.
Tired men want shore.
I am at the shore in parts of my life.
Tired of trying.
Tired of praying about the same thing.
Tired of what is still broken after a long time.
The temptation is to fold the nets and quit.
You are saying, go a little farther.
Not forever.
Just one more act of trust.
Sometimes the catch comes after the night looked empty.
Lord Jesus,
You see the deep water that scares me,
and You go there with me.
Help me let down the nets one more time
in the place I had given up on.
Amen.
