Dads
Prayer for dads
Anchors: Genesis 39:12, 1 Corinthians 10:13
Father, when Joseph ran from Potiphar's wife, he did the hardest thing and he did it fast. He did not stop to argue. He did not wait to see what would happen next. He left his cloak behind and he ran.
Most of my temptations are quieter than his, but the answer is still the same. There is the tab I should close before I click. The talk that is heading somewhere I do not want to go. The bottle that starts as one night and becomes a bigger problem. The phone in bed that slowly hurts the marriage I love.
Give me a clean way out. Help me leave the cloak behind. Help me close the tab, walk away, put the phone down, before I talk myself into staying.
Lord Jesus, You promised a way out of every temptation. Help me take it the first time, not the third. Make me a man who runs toward You instead of staying to argue with sin.
Amen.
