Prayer for dads
Anchors: Exodus 14:13
Father, You told Israel in Exodus 14:13 to stand still and see Your salvation. That is a hard command for a man like me. I want to act. I want a plan, a spreadsheet, a next step. Standing still feels like I am failing.
But there are seasons when my action would make things worse. I cannot force trust from my kid. I cannot fix things with another lecture. Sometimes the work is to stop, breathe, and watch You do what I cannot.
Show me the difference between waiting on You and just hiding. Waiting takes courage. Hiding is easy. When I am called to wait, give me patience. When I am called to move, give me clarity to know it is You moving me.
Lord Jesus, You waited in Gethsemane before You acted. Teach me that order — listen, surrender, then move. Not move, then panic, then pray.
Amen.
