Prayer for dads: Obedience

Father, even Your Son went a little farther in the garden. He fell on His face and prayed through the agony He endured for me. But I keep stopping short. I pray for two minutes and call it good. I take the hard conversation right up to the edge and then change the subject. I confess the easy sin and skip the one that costs me. Help me go a little farther today. Not all the way to what Christ went through for me. Just a little farther than I would go on my own. Five more minutes in prayer. One more honest sentence with the person I love most. One more name on my prayer list. Christ went farther for me. I can go a little farther for the people You have given me. Amen.
