Prayer for dads

Father, Your Word says there remains a rest for Your people. I read that and I feel two things at once. Promised something, because I am tired. Accused, because I do not stop moving long enough to receive it. Give me Sabbath in pieces this week, since I cannot seem to take it in whole hours. Five minutes after the kids are in bed without picking up the phone. The short walk between the office and the parking lot without rehearsing the next call. Teach me that rest is a kind of trust — trust that the world keeps going when I close my laptop. Let the rest that remains for Your people show up in the cracks of my real week. Amen.
